CURRICULUM

Our infants and toddlers utilize a Thematic Child-Centered Approach to curriculum.  This approach allows the teachers and assistants to choose monthly themes.  These curriculum approaches are multicultural and anti-biased.  Each room is set up based on the appropriate developmental stage of the group.  The rooms contain play centers that foster a positive self-image, social interaction, self expression, communication, creativity, large and small motor skills, and intellectual growth.  It is our belief that children learn best through play.  Therefore, the staff provides a variety of activities from which the children can choose. The teachers also enhance the interest centers to stimulate growth and development.  Each teacher provides large and small group activities.  These activities are planned to increase attention span, to learn problem solving skills, and to further develop language skills.

Our 4-year-old room stresses academic skills.  Every effort is made to foster reading readiness and beginning writing skills.

Lesson plans are posted on the Parent Boards in each of the classroooms.  Parents are also notified, through the daily reports, of activities or special events.
